The workshop that keeps your blades alive
A Japanese convex edge does not forgive a standard grinding wheel. Our approved workshop restores the edge on stones, adjusts the screw tension and tests the cut on hair — so that year after year your pair keeps its first-day precision.
The true Japanese scissor, at the right price
A pair of Togiya hairdressing scissors means a fully Japanese production chain: the steel — HITACHI 440C, V-GOLD No.1 or ATS-314 cobalt alloy — is selected, forged, hardened and sharpened in Inuyama, with no subcontracting. This end-to-end control lets the house offer authentic “Made in Japan” at a price few forges can match, from a graduate's first pair to a collector's Damascus.
Right- or left-handed, cutting or thinning, from a nervous 5.0″ to an 8.0″ barber blade: every model in the catalogue was designed by a master craftsman for a precise gesture. And because a good tool deserves care, our approved sharpening workshop follows your pair throughout its life. Well chosen, well maintained, a Togiya is passed on.
The house of Togiya
“Togiya” means “the sharpener”. Since 1965 in Inuyama, forging and hardening run on precision machines — but every edge is still born under a master's hand. Each pair is assembled, tuned and tested one by one.
